Our verdict

This is less a fair fight and more a budget question. Blukar's earphones cost less than a couple of coffees, and with over 50,000 ratings they clearly do the basics well for calls, podcasts and knocking about. The soundcore Q20i is a proper over-ear with ANC and a slightly higher score, aimed at people who want to block out the world for the whole working day. If money is tight or you just need a backup pair, the Blukar is almost a no-brainer. If you will wear them for hours and want to stop hearing the office, the Q20i is the grown-up choice.
